The City of Cambridge Visitor GuideThe information presented on the Cambridge pages is based on the Cambridge City Centre Street Map and Guide The picturesque city of Cambridge in Cambridgeshire, England is the home of one of the oldest universities in the world. There is and has always been an intense rivalry between Cambridge and Oxford Universities.
When the colleges are open, they are worth a visit. The most unmissable include King's College with its famous and breathtaking choir and chapel, Trinity College, Gonville & Caius, Queen's College, Magdalene College and Corpus Christi. Excellent views can be had, especially of King's College Chapel, from the Backs. Other places worth seeing include the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Scott Polar Research Institute, the Whipple Museum of the History of Science, the University Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, and the Cambridge Universtiy Botanic Garden. An excellent way to see Cambridge is with the Cambridge Open Top Bus Tour, run by Guide Friday, which visits all the major places of interest, and allows you to get on or off the bus at any of the many stops.
