WALKING TOURS:
The Canterbury Walks provide an ideal introduction to this historic city and are led by a Canterbury City Official Guide. Tickets are available from the Visitor Information Centre. Tours last 1.5 hours and leave from the Centre at 14.00 daily April-November, and also at 11.00 daily from June to August. Evenings of Medieval Entertainment in Old Canterbury. Includes entrance to "The Canterbury Tales", followed by a glass of traditional mead and then a theatrical performance around the city's streets. 19.00 during the Summer. Book on Tel: 454888.

BOAT TRIPS AND BOAT HIRE:

Canterbury Historic River Tours provides a truly entertaining experience for its visitors, and is a perfect tour for all age groups. The tour combines a light hearted commentary whilst also discovering some of Canterbury's finest architecture set against outstanding views of natural scenery. In 2008, the tour was recognised for its excellence by coming runner-up for 'Best Tour Experience' by the South East Tourism Board. Guest’s should meet on the Kings Bridge, by the Famous Tudor Building ‘The Old Weavers’.

Canterbury River Navigation Co. offer punt trips from the West Gate Bridge (B2), from 10.00 daily, May-September. Tel: 01585 318301.

Canterbury Punting Company offer 45 minute long punting trips on the River Stour through Canterbury, viewing parts of this ancient city not visible from the street. The trip passes sites such as the Blackfriars, Greyfriars, St.Thomas's Hospital, St.Mildred's Church, and the Weaver's House and provide passengers information and stories about the historic places they can see. They also offer night time haunted river tours by candle light. Tours run daily from April-September.
